How to organize a last-minute party

Do you feel like organizing a party in December, but don’t quite know how to get it off the ground easily, efficiently and with as much fun as possible? You will find instructions below.

Would you like upscale, vegan catering for the festive season – beyond fondue, sausages and mulled wine – that celebrates appreciation and gratitude towards your customers, your employees or your loved ones? Then you’ve come to the right place. Contact us for a quote on 079 541 41 66 or info@vegankitchen.ch

Answer four questions for a unique celebration.

Go through question by question, answer them within 24 to 48 hours and then get started with the implementation.

1. who to invite? People from different planets.

Who do you want to invite? For example, should your customers, suppliers and employees be invited to a business event? Or should the event “only” express appreciation and gratitude for your employees?

Our experience shows: The more diverse the party, the more people from different professional fields and areas of interest come together, the more exciting and inspiring the event. Giving your guests the opportunity to bring a companion increases the chance of a colorful party community coming together.

2. who organizes it? A lively team.

Celebrating a party alone is depressing. Organizing a party on your own doesn’t put you in an exuberant mood. What’s more, things go faster, better and more happily in a group – if you take the following tips to heart.

Tip no.1: Get into the party mood at the first meeting.

Starting the first session with champagne can boost motivation and lighten the mood. But the muse will also kiss you as you sip a relaxing tea.

Tip no. 2: Brainstorm, sleep on it, distribute offices.

Important: After the brainstorming part, sleep on it and make decisions the next day and then distribute the offices. Who is responsible for the food (the vegan kitchen, who else!)? Who is le chef de la liste des invités and responsible for creating the invitation? Who thinks about the decoration? Is entertainment required, that certain something? Performance artists, golden DJs like Mad Madame or Julia Weber, who takes her typewriter with her and poetically documents the event?

3 Why organize a party? Find good reasons.

You want to thank your customers. This is a great reason to serve them a vegan Apéro Riche. Saying thank you is obvious, but why not take a more playful approach? Giving your customers the gift of total relaxation after an intensive year could also be a good reason for a celebration. For example, with a work hard, relax harder party, where your guests can relax on Roman-style loungers, get a massage if they wish and enjoy vegan finger food. Write down different reasons for your celebration and with a bit of luck you will find the source of inspiration.

4. when should the party take place? From the middle of the week.

Many people tend to be in the mood to attend a festive event from the middle of the week. Before that, the to-do list presses on the party libido. Going to an aperitif right after work is more convenient for many guests than a party that starts at midnight. But it also depends on the type of party: For a classy and special party, your guests are also prepared to go home first to get rid of their everyday clothes and put on their tux or gala evening dress.

Tip: Keep the registration deadline for your festive event short and send a reminder e-mail on the penultimate day of the registration deadline.

Design your own digital Christmas card quickly and easily with Canva.

There is a lot to be said for an invitation card made of fine paper. However, the production process – from organizing the old postal addresses to selecting the paper to the shipping costs – can take time and money away from you. A good graphic designer will design you a beautiful subject for an e-mail invitation. If you want to take matters into your own hands, Canva, for example, is a very easy-to-use online service with lots of design templates.

From the streets to the farms

Two activists meet, two activists talk. Two activists agree on the point that we should make change instead of asking for it but they both have a few crucial questions to ask each other. This talk will be the chance for all of you to get the answers on the way to animal liberation and beyond …

Jake Conroy, a very experienced AR activist (check out his biography) claims that the focus within the AR movement is more and more on individual lifestyle changes whilst the numbers of animals slaughtered every year continues to rise. He is convinced that we need to focus our pressure on corporations and industries rather than relying on the individual only. Looking at previous animal rights campaigns as well as campaigns in other movements, we can begin to see how real world change is possible.

Sarah Heiligtag AR activist and (philosophical) farmer holds the position that sustainable change can only be achieved by transforming farms into organic vegan farms. For, while we all talk about the need of change, we easily forget that our food will always have to come from agriculture and only if change sets in there, we can overcome animal agriculture. Moreover farmers need to see the chance of this nonviolent way of working the land instead of being threatened by the vegan idea. So while we want to abolish animal exploitation we need to show how this new type of agriculture can take its place.
